Open Cell Foam

Both closed-cell and open-cell spray foam offer benefits: open-cell is more flexible, cost-effective, and suitable for sound absorption. It is suitable for attics, exterior walls, and areas with tight spaces.

Open-cell spray foam is a low-density polyurethane spray foam that yields a semi-rigid cellular structure. Open cell foam is full of small bubbles (cells) that aren’t completely encapsulated and are deliberately left open. This cell structure makes the foam softer and more flexible.

Open cell foam drastically expands to reach all the nooks and crannies in a home, creating an air-tight application. Open-cell spray foam insulation is more affordable than closed-cell foam and provides an R-value of 3.5-4 per inch.

Open-cell spray foam insulation is ideal for attics, exterior walls, between floors, and areas where sound absorption is needed.
